Rotate Rings
Objective
The goal of Rotate Rings is to free every piece from the board. Rotate the rings and slide the sticks
until nothing holds a piece in place, and clear the board before the time runs out to achieve the
highest score.
Setup
- Rings: Open or closed rings that turn around their center. Some rings have an arm with a knob at the
end.
- Sticks: Straight, L-shaped or U-shaped pieces that slide along their track.
- Timer: A session timer counts down from the start of the game.
Gameplay
Moving Pieces
- Drag a ring to rotate it. Drag a stick to slide it along its track.
- A piece stops when it bumps into another piece.
- Pieces stay exactly where you leave them, so you can move one halfway to make room for another.
Freeing Pieces
- When you lift your finger, every piece that no longer touches any other piece leaves the board.
- A stick must be fully out of its track to leave the board.
Hooked Pieces
- A piece whose knob rests on another ring is hooked and can't turn.
- Rotate the ring underneath until its gap passes under the knob to unhook it.
Chain Reactions
- One release can free several pieces at once.
- Plan your moves so that multiple pieces leave the board together.
Scoring
Your score is influenced by three main factors:
Unlock Score
- Points are awarded for every piece that leaves the board.
- Freeing several pieces with one release adds a Chain Bonus for each extra piece.
Multiplier Bonus
- Freeing pieces quickly fills your multiplier bar, up to x5. The bar slowly drains over
time.
Time Bonus
- Clearing the entire board grants a bonus based on the remaining time on the clock.
Level Completion
- Victory: The last piece has left the board.
- Time's Up: The timer reaches zero before all pieces are freed. You keep the points you have scored.
