Tile Match
Objective
The goal of Tile Match is to clear the entire playfield by matching identical tiles in groups of three.
Manage your moves carefully to avoid filling your collection dock, and clear all tiles before the time runs
out to achieve the highest score.
Setup
- Playfield: A variety of tiles are arranged in complex layers. Some tiles are hidden beneath others and
only become available when the tiles above them are cleared.
- Collection Dock: A bar at the bottom with 7 slots where tiles are temporarily stored before being
matched.
- Timer: A session timer counts down from the start of the game.
Gameplay
Matching Tiles
- Tap any available (unblocked) tile to move it to the collection dock.
- When you collect 3 identical tiles in the dock, they are automatically matched and removed, freeing up
space.
Revealing Hidden Tiles
- Some tiles are hidden and only display their backs.
- These tiles reveal their faces once the tiles blocking them have been moved to the collection dock.
Dock Management (Overfill)
- Be careful not to fill all 7 slots in the collection dock without forming a match.
- If the dock reaches 7 tiles and no match can be made, the game ends.
Scoring
Your score is influenced by three main factors:
Base Score
- Equal to the sum of the numbers you link together.
Match Score
- Points are awarded for every set of 3 tiles you successfully match.
Multiplier Bonus
- Clearing matches quickly increases your multiplier level, awarding significantly more points for
consecutive matches.
Tile Collection Score
- A small number of points is awarded for each tile you successfully collect and move to the dock.
Time Bonus
- Clearing the entire board quickly grants a substantial bonus based on the remaining time on the clock.
Level Completion
- Victory: All tiles have been cleared from the playfield.
- Defeat (Full Dock): The collection dock reaches 7 tiles with no possible matches.
- Defeat (Time's Up): The timer reaches zero before all tiles have been cleared.
